FAQs

Courses & Workshops
Where are the courses & workshops held?

Various locations. We also offers courses/workshops to groups in the comfort of your own venue!

What are the benefits of doing a classroom-based course or workshop?

Interior design and decoration are very practical subjects, so it is best to be very hands-on with the ideas and materials. The tutor can instantly answer your questions and provide guidance. Also, you will be inspired by like-minded students in a sociable, fun atmosphere. The structured and scheduled dates of the course or workshop will ensure that you must attend and do the work. No more procrastinating!

Am I too old to join?

No! These courses and workshops are for anyone aged 16-60+years. Most people are 25 years + who have new builds or people 40 years + who want to renovate or extend or retirees looking for a hobby. One of the most appealing aspects for students is that these mature students don’t feel old as they are generally not mingling with school leavers. The setting is in a boardroom not a formal classroom, so this makes the experience more welcoming and relaxing. If you are teenager, don’t worry, you will benefit from the experience of working in groups with mature students.

I don’t feel confident starting something new. How do I overcome my nerves?

It is natural to feel a bit nervous starting something new. Sharon is very patient, positive and encouraging. Your confidence will develop as you see positive results in your work. Many students have revealed that the courses have had a ripple effect on their lives, making them personally more confident.

How were the courses & workshops designed?

The courses and workshops have been carefully designed by the company’s Creative Director, Sharon Conneely-Donaldson, who has over 20 years industry experience in Ireland and the Middle East. Up-to-date notes, manuals and teaching methodology are incorporated. They are all very practical with inspiring and enjoyable learning activities.

How are you different from your competitors?

We beat our competitor on Teaching, Setting, Age Group, Flexibility, Variety and Price.

Teaching: Sharon is a qualified teacher and has over 20 years teaching experience in Ireland, the Middle East, Spain, and the Seychelles. Plus, she is qualified interior designer with over 20 years industry experience. She makes the courses and workshops extremely hand-ons and enjoyable using her vast experiences in the classroom.

Setting: Lessons are in a state-of-the-art boardroom that seats up to 16 people, not in an intimidating theatre or classroom.

Age Group: From 16-60+years but mainly mature students 25 years+

Flexibility: Courses and workshops run throughout the year not just the academic year. Weekday and weekend options are available. The courses and workshops are short, but intensive and professional.

Variety: An entire range of courses and workshops are available in topics to suit everyone’s interest.

Price: Our prices start at €90 which is extremely affordable unlike universities that run into thousands of euros.

What recognition and approvals do you have?

The company’s Creative Director, Sharon Conneely-Donaldson, have been a member of The Interiors Association in Ireland and the British Institute of Interior Design. Her sister company, Full Circle Design, in the UAE, was an approved member of IARC which is a quality control system for international education which recognizes quality and excellence in education. Do I need to be good at drawing?

No, as you will learn how to draw plans using pencils, rulers, and stencils.

What materials do I need for the workshop or course?

All the basic materials are provided.

Which course or workshop is right for me?

Full details are available on the website, but you are still welcome to call or e mail if you have additional questions.

Will I have homework?

In the courses (not the workshops), you will have a little bit of homework. Most students enjoy the work so much that they do more than they are required to. Be warned, interior design and decoration does become addictive! Life will ever be the same again.

Will I be able to apply the skills immediately to my own home?

Yes, the skills you will learn are very practical based around real homes and suppliers to help you make the transformations you want.

English is not my first language. Can I still enroll on the course?

Yes. Sharon, the tutor is also qualified to teach English as a foreign language and as a second language. Plus, the courses and workshops are very practical and visual. In addition, you will receive the manuals before you start to give you a chance to read them and translate any vocabulary with which you are unfamiliar. The manuals consist of slides from the presentations in the courses or workshops.

Do I get any student discounts?

It depends on the venue. Please contact us for more details.

Is this a good career move for me?

If you are considering an expensive diploma or degree course, this is a good ‘taster’ course for you, whether you are in transition year, or a mature student, to help you make the right choice. Some students have also successfully progressed to setting up their own interior design & decoration companies to work on small projects.

Interior Design Consultancy (Projects)
What type of projects do you do: residential or commercial?

I mainly do residential, but I am open to commercial too.

What size projects do you do?

Currently, I do small to medium ones such as one room or the whole house as I do all the work myself. In the past, when I had a team of designers, I would also work on high rise furnished apartment blocks, hotels, and large restaurants & bars.

What styles can you do?

I can do all styles whether you want Art Deco, Mid Century Modern, Minimalistic, Scandinavian, Rustic or Eclectic! With the pre-consultation questionnaire and initial consultation, I will be able to figure out what style you want. Don’t worry, if you don’t have the terminology to describe your style, with the help of visuals and the experience of dealing with thousands of clients, I will be able to nail it.

What kind of budget do you work to?

I work on all budgets from modest to generous to very generous. It is important to specify the budget right from the outset, so I specify the right level of product.

What are your prices?

I offer four packages with afforable hourly and lum sum rates. For more information, please contact me for the brochure and also refer to the Consultancy page.

How long does it take you to complete the work?

For small projects, such as one room, it generally takes 1-2 weeks.

What are the benefits of an online consultation over a face-to-face visit?

Saves Time & Money: Designers charge more for face-to-face visits. You save time and travel expenses when you don’t have to visit the designer in their office or showroom. Meetings tend to run on longer than necessary when they are face-to-face. Online tends to be more focused and wastes less time.

Flexibility: You can generally work from anywhere with an internet connection, whether it is from home or a coffee shop or even when you are travelling. You can work from any device. However, the larger the screen the better when it comes to looking at mood boards and drawings. You can agree on a schedule that works best for both parties.

Do you work with clients outside of Ireland?

Yes, clients from all over the world are welcome! I am familiar with international brands around the world, particularly in the Middle East and UK. A fairly good command of English is required for the online consultations. You may be limited by the range and prices of designers in your local area, so Full Circle Interior Design’s affordable prices will appeal to you.

How do start the process?

Just send an enquiry to sharon@fullcircleinteriordesign.ie and I will send you the design packages. Once you have agreed on a package, I will send you the ‘Pre-Consultation Questionnaire’ to complete.

I look forward to helping you transform your interiors!
