Interior Design Level 2 Course
The Interior Design Level 2 Course offered by Full Circle Interior Design is a four-week intermediate-level programme that deepens and extends your understanding of interior design principles covered on level 1.
This course emphasises creating detailed design plans with a focus on budgets, materials, and technical issues. C.A.D. (Computer Aided Design) programmes will be recommended too as an option to try out.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to confidently design functional, stylish rooms according to a proposed budget with a comprehensive set of drawings including furniture layout plan, floor finishes plan, wall finishes plan, ceiling plan and elevations.
Prerequisites: To enroll, students must have completed:
- Interior Design Taster or Level 1 Course or an equivalent course, or industry experience, or
- Have completed at least three Full Circle Interior Design workshops, including ‘Space Planning for Beginners’.
This course is ideal for those looking to advance their interior design skills, focusing on both creative and technical aspects of the design process.
What to expect
- Understanding the Interior Design Process: From Concept to Completion
- Project Review: Students select a room in their home or work with a provided plan with a list of deliverables (Concepts & Concept Development).
- Review of a full house plan at 1:100 scale & design of entrance/staircase
- Elevations: Drawings at 1:50 scale
- Plans 1:50 scale: Floor & Wall Finishes Plans
- Shopping List: Learn how to create a detailed budget by sourcing prices and quantities from a real floor plan
- Material specifications: In-depth discussion on both hard and soft materials for considering budget and quality.
- Lighting: Understanding proper lighting techniques and examine ceiling & electrical layout plans
- Dining room design & 1:100 scale drawing activity
- Final project presentation: Students present their completed project to the group.
- Tutor feedback: Receive constructive feedback from the tutor on your designs.
- Additional activities: If time allows
Class size: Limited to 16 to ensure your get maximum individual guidance and feedback from your tutor.
Recognition: Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a ‘Letter of Completion’ from Full Circle Interior Design.
